The smallest of margins has denied Chevaux his third career win at Townsville today,
Lining up in the BM 65 (1300M), Chevaux jumped well and landed in second spot, at the hindquarters of the leader, Jeux.
At the top of the straight, the pair came away from the rest of the field, with Chevaux levelling up outside of Jeux – and from this point to the winning post – the pair were locked in a tremendous battle.
Going stride for stride, it was going to be a case of which horse got the bob in on the line, and unfortunately the position of the post didn’t favour Chevaux, who was in front both before and after the line!
It was a great effort nevertheless and continued the consistent form of 5yo gelding, with a deserved win, surely, not far away.
